SETTING MODEM LINKSYS WIRELESS-M
A. Most DSL providers use Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) to establish Internet connections for end-users. To set up a Linksys router, you need to enable PPPoE on the router's web-based setup page.
To set up a Linksys router with a DSL connection, you need to perform these four steps:
1.     Verifying Internet Connection
2.     Connecting the Devices Together
3.     Checking the LEDs
4.     Setting-Up a DSL ISP On a Linksys Router
To verify your Internet connection, follow the steps below.
Verifying Internet Connection
Connect the Broadband modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable without the router installed and make sure that the Internet connection is active. If not, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). After verifying the Internet connection, connect the devices together. For instructions, follow the steps below.

Connecting the Devices Together
After ensuring that you have an Active Internet Connection, connect the modem to the router's Internet port and the computer to any of the four Ethernet ports.
After connecting the devices together, proceed in checking the router's LEDs. For instructions, follow the steps below.
Checking the LEDs
After connecting your modem and PC to the router, check the lights on the front panel of the router.
After checking the router's LEDs, proceed in setting up the router for DSL connection. For instructions, follow the steps below.
Setting up a DSL ISP on a Linksys Router
Complete these steps:
1.     Access the router's web-based setup page.
2.     When the router's web-based setup page appears, click LAN and look for Local IP Address and change it to "192.168.2.1" on the field provided.

3.     Click Save Settings.
4.     Renew the computer's IP address.
5.     Access the router's web-based setup using "192.168.2.1" as the IP address.
6.     When the router's web-based setup page appears, click Status and check if Internet IP Address has numbers or values. If the Internet IP Address has numbers, the computer should now be able to access the Internet.

Note: If the IP Address is all zeros (0.0.0.0) click first then click . If the IP Address is still all zeros (0.0.0.0) enable PPPoE on the router. To enable PPPoE on the router, follow the instructions below.
7.     Click Setup.

8.     Click WAN IP and look for under Internet Connection Type, select PPPoE from the drop-down arrow.
9.     Enter the username and password that your ISP provided you in the Username and Password fields, including a domain such as yourusername@isp.net for the username.
10.   Click Save Settings.

11.   Click Status, look for Login Status and check if it says Connected. If it is Connected, you should be able to access the Internet.

Note: If Login Status is Disconnected, click Connect and check if you are receiving an error message. To resolve error messages, refer to the link below.
